BIRATNAGAR, NEPAL

The bar graph demonstrates the call duration (in billion minutes) made by the people of United Kingdom through three different mediums: local -fixed line, national and international- fixed line and mobile (all calls), between the years 1995 and 2002. Overall, local-fixed line remained the most popular means for telephone conversations in the UK between the given years.

To begin with, the total duration of calls made via local-fixed line in 1995 was approximately 70 billion minutes, which was just about double the total call duration of national and international –fixed line in the same year. On the other hand, in the same year, mobiles were the least popular means for telephone conversation in the UK; this accounted to less than 5 billion calling minutes. Furthermore, between 1995 and 1999, the call duration of local-fixed line gradually increased, and in 1999 the talk time of local-fixed line peaked at about 90 billion minutes. However, from the year 1999 to 2002, they became less and less popular.

Next, the calling time of national and international-fixed line gradually soared between 1995 and 2001, and peaked at around 60 billion minutes in 2001 and 2002. Likewise, although mobiles were the least popular means for conversation in the UK in 1995, its fame steadily rose in the following years. Moreover, between 1999 and 2000, the calling time of mobiles(all calls) jumped from around 10 billion minutes to over 20 billion minutes(more than double). Eventually, in 2002, the call duration of mobile calls was at its peak at nearly 40 billion minutes.
